What We Do
We provide a forum where people and organizations have the shared mission to reject acts of hate and bias, a place where conversations can take place regarding their interests, where successful practices can be discussed and alternate approaches or variations of approaches can be designed.
We provide the forum where a subcommittee of the Alliance are informed of or already know of acts of hate and bias and develop a response, both forceful and immediate, that will speak for the group in its entirety. This response is in support of, not a replacement for, any other responses that individual organizations, especially those that represent the targeted group already provide. It might be referred to as a Rapid Response Team. United in purpose we Stand.
We provide the framework of a culture that encloses the k through 12 environment in an anti bias envelope. A subcommittee will take on the responsibility of identifying best practices in the field of Anti-Bias Education with the specific mission of overlaying a culture of anti-bias and make it a part of the DNA of education. The committee will research the many resources that exist, borrow from the best and adapt for the Alliance’s purposes. It is hoped that within this framework, the already existing targeted programs developed by many organizations will have a greater opportunity to succeed since it will be implemented in a culture primed for acceptance. The ultimate goal is to introduce this concept to the NJ Dept. of Education and encourage them to adopt this plan or some variation.
Our Mission
Our Mission is to end hate and bias in all forms that target affinity groups through shared learning, teaching and responding. To encourage listening, sharing, inclusion among all peoples of similar and different backgrounds.
